Here we will place those stories that came from our war years - stories from those who were involved, recording funny, sad, or frightened moments. Almost all our menfolk were involved in some way, and many women too. I was one of the wives and mothers who spent months coping alone and worrying - about Paul "in the bush", about my parents on their farm, about my brothers in the Police Reserve. My husband was wounded while on convoy duty between Birchenough Bridge and Fort Vic, but I think his worst experience was the occasion when his camouflage gear was so realistic that a passing dog took him for a tree!
