Our first port was Port Said. The photo below is of a bumboat which came alongside selling camel stools, leather pouffes and other artifacts. I bought a pouffe, which was then hauled up in a basket!

We then sailed through the Suez canal - I took this photo out of the porthole, thinking it would add an artistic touch!
Our next call was at Aden. In those days it was a "free port" and we were able to buy things ridiculously cheaply. I bought a radio which lasted for over 10 years.
