There was a dock strike in Mombasa and we found we had 6 days there so Judy and I and a friend hopped on a train to Nairobi for a few days.	There were lovely beaches near Mombasa. Next we called at Dar es Salaam.

Eventually we reached Beira, and there was my family to meet me. It was lovely to see them - they had brought my car too so we drove home through Mozambique.

And so the holiday came to an end. It was the end of an era too, I think - no longer do school teachers have long leave after 3 years as we did. What happy memories linger.
