I did a two day tour of Argolis. This was my only trip into the Peloponnese. It was interesting to see peasant life continuing as it had for centuries - people with their donkey carts, taking goods to market, others working in the olive groves.

We crossed the Corinth Canal and I was startled at how narrow it was! Then we saw the ruins in Corinth - this is the Temple of Apollo.

Next stop was the fascinating Mycenae.

We went through the ancient Lion Gate

The entrance to what is known as Agamemnon's Tomb

We drove through the market town of Argolis and spent the night in Nauplia. Then it was on to Epidaurus, where we saw the ancient stadium and museum, and the amazing theatre.

The magnificent amphitheatre at Epidaurus with its perfect acoustics.
